Marvell Technology Group Ltd. announced the appointment of Andy Micallef as COO, effective immediately.
In his new role, he will be responsible for driving Marvell’s operations related to chip production and management of vendors and process partners.
“We are very excited to have Andy join the Marvell team,” said Richard Hill, Marvell’s chairman. “Andy’s extensive experience in senior operational roles at top tier technology companies will be crucial to Marvell’s success going forward.”
Micallef joins Marvell from Intersil Corporation where he was SVP of operations since January 2015. Prior to that, he was VP of operations at Audience, Inc. from 2010 to 2015, EVP of operations at LSI Corporation from 2007 to 2010, and EVP of global operations at Agere Systems from 2005-2007.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1987, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1988, and an MBA from the University of Michigan in 1993.
