Qumulo and FlavourSys Partnering

Open solution for post-production video editing and asset management

Qumulo, Inc., in data-aware scale-out NAS, announced a partnership with FlavourSys Technology GmbH, provider of software for project sharing and project management for video post-productions.

Together, Qumulo Core and FlavourSys Strawberry deliver an open solution for post-production video editing and asset management.

Qumulo also announced that the company will be sponsoring, exhibiting and demonstrating the joint solution at the NAB show, April 16-21 in Las Vegas, NV.

We are thrilled to be working with FlavourSys, a proven leader in intelligent project and media management,” said Jeff Cobb, VP of product management, Qumulo. “This solution brings together next generation scale-out storage from Qumulo with leading cross-platform software for video editing, project workflow and asset management.

Strawberry is a production asset management solution that helps productions to collaborate and produce content more efficiently. It is an open software solution that allows users of video editing systems from Adobe, Apple, and Avid Technology to collaboratively edit and share projects stored on Qumulo’s data-aware scale-out NAS, enabling consolidation and simplifying the entire production environment.

With the combined solution, users can:

  • Share projects and media from Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut Pro
  • Scale to billions of files and petabytes of storage capacity in a single shared file system organized by Strawberry
  • Simplify data management and production processes, and reduce costs with open, standards-based systems

Strawberry provides a window into Qumulo storage, giving editors a Google-style search and proxy viewing of the entire production and archive storage,” said Derek Barrilleaux, VP of WW sales, FlavourSys. “This joint solution closes the gap between storage and the creative applications to present a truly mature post-production workflow.

Core has real-time data analytics built into the file system, giving enterprises a view of their data and storage resources at scale. With greater visibility into which data is most valuable, where it is stored, which users or applications are accessing what files, what should be archived, backed up or deleted, and why data grows, Qumulo’s customers report gains in workflow performance and storage efficiency. Earlier, Qumulo introduced Core 2.0 and three QC-Series hybrid storage appliances – the QC40, QC104, and QC260.
