Paragon’s NTFS for Linux Powering MediaClone’s Forensic Field Imaging and Mobile Platforms

Accelerating R/W access for NTFS-formatted storage

Paragon Software Group Corp. announced that MediaClone, Inc., a Reseda, CA-based manufacturer of computer forensic products, will use Paragon’s NTFS for Linux 9.0 Professional solution across its SuperImager Plus product lines.

MediaClone is licensing the Paragon Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology to deliver R/W access to NTFS-formatted storage for SuperImager Plus Computer Forensic Field Imaging and Complete Mobile Forensic platforms. Both platforms enable computer forensic investigators to capture data at high speeds from multiple media sources and interfaces in a very short period of time.

With the use of NTFS on the rise by forensic investigators for evidence storage, a growing need exists for file system drivers with the capability to deliver higher speeds versus standard Linux implementations to support NTFS,” according to Ezra Kohavi, CEO, MediaClone, Inc.

We approached Paragon for a solution to this challenge, and their technology and support teams have worked closely with us to deliver a custom-tailored, NTFS-optimized driver that is allowing us to exceed customer expectations,” said Kohavi. “We’ve found the Paragon NTFS for Linux driver to be superior over competing alternatives, offering extremely fast R/W capabilities at a price point we simply couldn’t find anywhere else. The end results have been impressive, with the drivers allowing us to accelerate data writing to the NTFS-formatted drives by almost 50%.

UFSD technology provides rapid, transparent and R/W access to non-native file systems under Linux, Android, QNX and other platforms. The Paragon NTFS HFS for Linux 9.0 Professional product features powerful utilities that maintain NTFS and HFS+ partitions and protect stored data, while delivering performance with no limits on file or volume size.

MediaClone stands out in the market for delivering the fastest and most complete Digital Forensic imaging solutions to their customers,” said Tom Fedro, president, Paragon. “We’re very proud to align with them to further advance the speed and performance of their products with our proven NTFS + HFS for Linux Professional solution.
