With this offering, healthcare organizations are empowered to capture and analyze their data to improve operations, contain costs, meet stringent regulatory demands, and, most importantly, maximize the quality of patient care.

Running Information Builders’ Omni-Patient application on reliable NetApp FAS systems enables users to scale storage infrastructures to keep pace with increasing patient data requirements. Healthcare providers across regions have already seen the benefits. Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), the healthcare provider in its Pennsylvania-area community, treats patients across ten health centers and numerous primary and specialty care physician practices. In addition to medical care, the organization also provides pharmacy, imaging, lab and preferred provider services. LVHN utilizes Omni-Patient and the WebFOCUS business analytics platform from Information Builders housed on a FAS storage system platform with clustered Data ONTAP.

Now more than ever, excellent patient care relies on staff having the tools to access the most up-to-date information to enhance the clinical decision-making process,” said Donald L. Levick, MD, MBA, chief medical information officer, LVHN. “With a web-based system in place, our clinicians can access this type of information in real time, making them more efficient. Information Builders’ robust business intelligence capabilities combined with NetApp storage high performance and availability, will help us map out a successful data strategy to help our clinicians provide quality patient care.

Working together, NetApp and Information Builders make it possible for healthcare professionals to use and share thousands of TBs of clinical data to make informed decisions,” said Dave Nesvisky, executive director, NetApp healthcare. “Our joint customers can implement these solutions with confidence, knowing that they will get a centralized, high-performance storage solution to help them achieve cost efficiencies and overcome operational and productivity hurdles with improved data management, sharing, and archiving.

Omni-Patient is an enterprise master data application that combines an enterprise master patient index (EMPI) with pre-packaged models to provide full patient identity management, and achieve a 360-degree view of key entities, with a single golden record for each patient, provider, payer, workforce and facility. Out-of-the-box, Omni-Patient includes an EMPI, data quality and integration, an enterprise data warehouse, and optional ACO/PQRS/MU compliance metrics. Omni-Patient overcomes the challenges associated with fragmented information architectures by integrating and enriching all activity across all applications and systems at the patient and event level.

Today’s healthcare providers face tremendous challenges as they juggle patient data stemming from myriad systems and organizations,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO, Information Builders. “Add to that pressure from government regulators and competitors, and healthcare organizations can quickly become buried in data management and reporting processes. Information Builders is dedicated to assisting our clients in the healthcare industry with the effective capture and analysis of critical patient data. The Omni-Patient product built on NetApp storage arrays further expands users’ abilities to make comprehensive, timely, and complete information readily available to everyone involved in the patient care cycle, ultimately improving quality of care.
