Druva and US Derive Technologies Partnering

To sell inSync and Phoenix solutions

Derive Technologies, Inc., a New York and NJ-based IT business solution provider, and Druva, Inc. have formed a strategic partnership.

The alliance surrounds Druva’s integrated cloud-based platforms for enterprise-wide data protection and governance. In a 2013 article in Forbes (1), “Jaspreet Singh, the young visionary,” and CEO of Druva (founded in 2008) said that he sought to make his company, “the guiding light in the endpoint data management space created out of the need to manage data at what Singh calls ‘the edge.’” At “the edge”  is Druva’s inSync Solution.

According to Druva, “with integrated backup, access and sharing, inSync provides a unified platform to easily create policies, monitor activity, and enable data access for eDiscovery – all without impacting employee productivity. inSync is a cloud-oriented architecture (COA) designed to deliver a scalable and secure service to archive, discover and serve information.

Derive Technologies has delivered solutions to healthcare, government and public sector, financial services and other professional services clients for more than two decades.

According to Darius ‘Staffy’ Stafford, Derive’s CTO, inSync and Phoenix solutions represent: “a critical new step in providing a 360-degree data protection offering in the ever-changing information technology paradigm – extending from the core of the data center, to virtualized and full cloud, or hybrid cloud-based services, reaching all the way to the endpoint.

Stafford goes on to sayt: “Druva’s inSync and Phoenix solutions provide us with the final building block – complimentary to our offerings with HP, Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix and other key providers – of a set of fully-scalable, cloud-focused services for our specialized vertical industry clients.

Alex Buonincontri, Druva’s senior channel sales manager says of the partnership between the two companies: “I’ve worked with Derive Technologies for almost 20 years in various capacities. Knowing all of the features and functionalities of Druva’s products, I immediately recognized the potential partnership synergies with Derive and the solution-forward focus that they represent in their portfolio.

According to Buonincontri: “Now that Druva and Derive have officially moved into a formal partnership with one another, I am confident that Druva will uphold Derive’s core business tenant to be a trusted advisor in the marketplace, specializing in surrounding vertical industry client needs, while offering the best-of-breed technology that their clients come to expect.

Druva received, according to Top Tech News (2), “the highest product rating out of seven solutions examined in Gartner Relevant Products/Services, Inc.’s 2013 Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Endpoint Backup report. inSync also achieved the highest mobile Relevant Products/Services-workforce-centric score and an ‘excellent’ rating for product viability, based on Gartner’s assessment of Druva’s ability to enhance and support the product over its expected lifecycle.

Also, according to an article in TechCrunch (3), Druva received, “$25 million in series D funding to expand (its) mobile data protection strategy” in 2014, from venture financers, “Sequoia Capital with Nexus Venture Partners and Tenaya Capital.

Stafford says of these achievements: “Druva’s realization of such strong recognition from Gartner, and the support of some of the most important venture capital companies currently in the technology industry, gives us a set of thoroughly-tested, forward-thinking tools to add to our solution ‘tool belt.’ Druva also has the financing – now, including their growth investment in mobile – and accolades, to enable us, and, moreover, to enable our globally-renowned clients, to feel true confidence in them as a company and in their offerings.
