CMS Distribution Ltd, an independent VAD of storage, networking and IT products in the UK and Ireland, is extending its software portfolio, strengthening security and storage footprint, and takes its first steps into the cloud – by partnering with The Bunker Ultra Secure Hosting Limited (The Bunker).

Tierna Henry, group software manager, CMS, said: “We will be focusing more and more on our software portfolio. We have just entered into a partnership with Barracuda and a few more security focused partners are also waiting in the wings. The Bunker allows CMS Distribution to not only strengthen its Security and Storage footprint, but to take one of its first steps into the Cloud.

The Bunker provides ultra-secure hosting, cloud, colocation and IT services from within the UK’s most secure facilities. The Bunker’s infinitely scalable, fortified SecureSlice cloud object storage and accredited ex-MOD data centre facilities, provide an encrypted, reliable and, cost-effective way to store and protect data.

The Bunker provide a secure and highly available ISO27001, IGSoC, PCI DSS accredited IT infrastructure and cloud services from within ex-Ministry of Defence nuclear bombproof fortresses. The Bunkers experience, qualifications and expert support make them the trusted partner for secure, compliant outsourced infrastructure and storage.

CMS Distribution are always keen to discover new partnerships that can complement the existing portfolio that we have today. The Bunker is a natural fit to it – not only is it an extremely strong proposition to our existing clients, but also the complement to our Commvault portfolio is very attractive. For some time we have had clients asking us for an off-premise Commvault solution and finally we have the answer. With The Bunkers ‘Ultra Secure’ strapline and plentiful certifications to boot, they can proudly boast to own some of the most secure IT services in the UK. In agreement with our partner Commvault, we will be talking to all of our existing clients to offer this complement – it is truly a win-win for everyone!” added Henry.

CMS have invested heavily in their software team over the past 6 months – increasing headcount within the team which proves the commitment for growth and that the company are serious about helping their partners and the 3,000 resellers to grow their business.

Peregrine Newton, CEO, The Bunker, said: “CMS Distribution is a well-respected and established leading distributor in the storage market, their product knowledge, technical expertise and relationship with key resellers makes them the perfect fit for The Bunker. The Bunker are looking forward to working with CMS Distribution, as our complementary secure cloud storage solutions offer great opportunity for resellers to quickly and simply add recurring cloud based revenue to their existing and new customers.”

As storing, preserving and protecting digital assets are proving to be one of the most significant challenges facing IT, finding a cost effective alternative to traditional storage has become a priority for many companies.

From built in encryption of data at rest and in motion to a range of authentication and access controls, The Bunkers object-based cloud storage includes a range of capabilities, designed to help meet security requirements, without compromising scalability, availability, ease of use or economic efficiency.
