CloudBerry Lab Supports Microsoft Azure Cool Blob Storage

CloudBerry Lab, Inc., in cloud-based backup and file management services to SMBs, has announced their product line connects with Microsoft’s Azure Cool Blob Storage offering.

CloudBerry Lab customers can start realizing the benefits of the service including low cost, high capacity and durability for data requiring only occasional access.

As organizations experience rapid increases in content, cloud-based services like Azure Cool Blob Storage can offer significant cost advantages combined with the inherent security and reliability benefits of the cloud.“

Cool Storage is a form of archiving designed for data that continues to be accessed (though infrequently), is long lived, and does not require HA, but still requires high durability. This type of data is generally accessed once per month (or less), and lives for at least 30 days. Example use cases for Cool Storage include media content (such as video and images), public safety data (for example, security cameras) and scientific data.

Cool Storage provides a lower-cost option for these data types. It can deliver cost savings when compared to other storage options, which are designed for ‘hot’ or ‘active’ data requiring extremely fast response and retrieval times.
