As the volume of structured and unstructured data continues to grow and as enterprise storage continues to shift from traditional on-premises solutions to next-generation cloud-based computing, content mobility and managed services, enterprises require a simple IT security infrastructure with non-disruptive data protection. Bloombase StoreSafe, an (Intel AES-NI cryptographic acceleration) encryption solution, meets this industry need while providing in-depth data protection against cyber threats.

Certified and validated by HDS, StoreSafe delivers a transformative software appliance approach to power transparent encryption protection that further enhances the industry data security of the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP). HCP is an appliance or software-only object storage solution for management of consolidation, automation, mobilization and archiving of content in multi-tenancy environments over traditional and storage protocols, such as Simple Storage Service (S3).

StoreSafe enables business applications to secure unstructured data contents with NIST FIPS 140-2-validated cryptographic technologies at zero operational change, providing HCP applications with an even more robust and secure data environment for day-to-day storage and long-term archival.

The HCP plus StoreSafe solution protects both on – and off-premises at-rest data in complex heterogeneous storage infrastructures – from SAN, NAS and DAS to tape library and VTL. It also protects data in CAS; object stores; hypervisor datastores; private, hybrid and cloud-storage service endpoints; and compliance archives as part of an extended portfolio of content mobility solutions. The solution enables enterprises to mitigate data leakage threats; provide secure file sync and share for mobile users with visibility and control; provision storage over on- and off-premises data center topologies; retain the flexibility to mobilize data; and help organizations achieve data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements.

According to Sean Xiang, Bloombase CEO: “The certification of Bloombase StoreSafe for HCP is only the first step in our strategic relationship with HDS. We look forward to deepening our collaboration to jointly address emerging customer use cases with next-generation solutions.

The Hitachi Technology Alliance Program is an integral part of the overall Hitachi Data Systems experience,” said Neil Colstad, VP, ISV alliances and verticals, HDS. “With the addition of Bloombase and its StoreSafe solution to our Program, our customers will have a greater breadth of data security support as they, like HDS, transform data into information, insight and new opportunities to achieve the unimaginable.
