Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA Expands Agreement With EMC

Avnet Technology Solutions, an IT solutions distributor and an operating group of Avnet, Inc., announced an expanded distribution agreement with EMC Corp. to offer solutions through its Avnet Global Computing Components (AGCC) business unit in EMEA.

This expanded agreement leverages the success of the long-standing relationship between Avnet and EMC in many countries across the globe and across multiple business units. As one of the primary distributors of EMC technologies, Avnet Technology Solutions has helped partners grow their mid-market storage business profitably with EMC solutions for more than 12 years.

Avnet Global Computing Components will now offer VNX and VNXe unified storage solutions, Isilon scale-out NAS systems, and the Atmos cloud Storage Platform as part of its Build OEM Better programme. This programme provides a lower TCO and reduced manufacturing time. Additionally, it offers flexibility and scalability via a global footprint of integration and service support for OEMs and ISVs.

The addition of EMC enables AGCC EMEA to offer OEMs opportunity to:

• Customise their storage and software solutions
• Capitalise on a single interface, often leveraging a single IP fabric to more easily implement backup recovery
• Virtualise their applications to increase ease and consistency of deployment
• Consolidate physical infrastructure (in development and in the field)
• Offer their application ‘as-a-service’ (from their own or hosted data centres)
• Improve reliability and scale

Backed by Avnet’s expertise and customer support team, OEMs will be able to use EMC’s portfolio of bundled storage, software and application solutions to move from design to deployment of end applications. These applications range from telecommunications to manufacturing through to media and life sciences.
