SNIA Launching SFF Technology Affiliate Technical Work Group

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced the SFF Committee has transitioned under SNIA as the SFF Technology Affiliate (TA) Technical Work Group (TWG).

This group consists of more than 40 member companies and is growing. It will continue its focus on serving the industry and its members by carrying forth the work efforts that have operated for more than 25 years.  

Dal Allan, ENDL principal for SFF Committee, adds: “The SFF Committee will benefit greatly with new collaboration tools and new SNIA organizational support and structure, while retaining our IP licensing type and specification development processes. We have found SNIA to be an exceptional and flexible organization which will continue our future industry-serving endeavors.”

The SFF Technology Affiliate TWG will continue to focus and develop technical specifications as SNIA Architecture to enable technology vendors an easy way to procure compatible, multi-sourced products and solutions for storage media, storage networks, and solutions that cover a range of technologies from cables to connectors and interfaces and more.

David Dale, SNIA chairman, states: “The new SNIA Technology Affiliate Membership category should appeal to many long-standing technical communities by offering cost effective association management, organizational longevity, and appropriate IP policies, all operating within a collaborative environment. SNIA is excited to have the SFF Committee rehouse their activities and gain the synergies of storage technical work and common membership.”
