Companies Start to Adopt Mix and Match Approach to IT DR – Plan B

Plan B Disaster Recovery Ltd (Plan B), an IT DR service provider, launches a market teport.

It analyses 200 IT and business decision makers to identify their strategies and requirements from the DR market.

Key findings are that more progressive companies are adopting a tailored approach to DR, utilising a range of solutions to meet the criticality of their services and to enable their budgets to be proportioned accordingly, in order to meet business resilience requirements.

Testing continues to be a concern however, as companies are not testing frequently enough, or thoroughly enough. With an increasing requirement for testing if a mix and match approach is to be utilised, there is a risk of solutions not working seamlessly together when it comes to full recovery, and IT downtime increasing.

As companies start adopting a multiple solution approach, Plan B expects that in-house management, maintenance and testing of DR strategies will continue to dominate over a fully outsourced approach, despite reports that DR as a Service is on the increase.
