Buffalo Shockproof External Portable HDDs Along With Dynamic RAM Solution

Buffalo Technology extended its consumer range for external storage with the MiniStation DDR and MiniStation Safe.

Write up speeds of 400MB/s make the MiniStation DDR a portable storage device suited for users wanting fast reliability. The Safe boosts a shockproof chassis, protecting your data drive from accidental bumps and drops, making it ideal for users wanting to protect their vital data on the go.

MiniStation DDR (HD-PGDU3)
With the company’s Dynamic Random-Access Memory, portable HDD users no longer need to choose between speed and capacity. This provides fast data transfer speeds similar to the SSD without compromising on capacity and performance. Furthermore, this HDD is a more cost-effective option; the RRP for an SSD is £417.38, the RRP for the MiniStation is £119.02.

Compatible with Windows and Mac OSs, this is available in 500GB and 1TB. MS DDR enables users to transfer 1,000 images in 3.5s, making this HDD 2.3 times faster than a standard USB 3.0 HDD.

This has a data transfer rate of 5Gb/s via its USB 3.0 port. Its design includes LEDs which indicate the drive’s cache use and power status. It also encompasses traditional Buffalo features such as Backup Utility, RAMDISK Utility and TurboPC EX.

MiniStation ‘Safe’ (HD-PNFU3)
This not only features a shockproof chassis, but also encompasses a ‘Lock-and-Go’ security feature, allowing users to password-protect their data. Users wanting extra security can also choose between 128- or 256-bit encryption, which complies to U.S. military standards.

This HDD has won the Good Design Award for its flat, matt toned case. Available in red and black, it is available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. With interface speeds of 5Gb/s and SuperSpeed data transfer with USB 3.0, this device is compatible with both Windows and Mac OSs.
