The Neenan Company Leveraging SimpliVity Hyper-Converged Infrastructure

SimpliVity Corporation, announced that The Neenan Company, a design and construction firm, is leveraging its OmniCube hyper-converged infrastructure systems to simplify its IT, improve DR capabilities, and drive greater data and performance efficiency – resulting in operational and financial benefits.

After replacing its legacy infrastructure with SimpliVity, The Neenan Company:

The Neenan Company has a team of three IT professionals responsible for protecting 40 mission-critical VMs that keep the business running each day. The company sought a solution that would provide on-premises operational recovery and off-premises DR to protect itself from data loss and business downtime, using a partner’s data center as its DR site. While improving its DR capabilities was a top priority, this was also an opportunity to conduct a technology refresh and leverage a new solution to reduce annual maintenance and operating expenses.

The Neenan Company’s IT team deployed two OmniCube hyper-converged infrastructure systems at two locations to support its mission-critical applications – including CMiC project software powered by Oracle 10g, SQL Server, Exchange, AutoDesk Revit, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux. In addition to local backups, backups are regularly replicated between The Neenan Company’s primary and DR sites. Since switching to hyperconverged infrastructure, the company has seen improvements in its DR and backup capabilities, as well as increase overall operational efficiency.
