Indian Tech Mahindra Using CommVault Software

As its cloud-based business solutions evolve, Tech Mahindra decided to work with CommVault’s Cloud Solutions Group (CSG) and the Simpana 10 platform based on CommVault’s cloud backup enablement and capabilities to make additional functionality available. These elements support Tech Mahindra’s alliances as its partners expand into the provisioning of a variety of managed service offerings.

According to Karthi Chandramouli, global practice head, cloud strategic unit, Tech Mahindra, “CommVault is the industry leader in backup provisioning, and offers a complete data management solution that will support our ongoing strategy to add differentiated value to our alliances community. The ability of CommVault’s Simpana software platform to support multiple revenue stream opportunities, without the need for dedicated infrastructure stacks, means greater efficiency and flexibility for our service provider alliances offerings.

With CommVault software, Tech Mahindra can offer Web-based self-service portals, workflow automation, efficient data movement, and protection of virtual workloads – across backup, archive, DR, and search – with a single software platform and leveraging shared infrastructure, to their service provider partners. Alliance partners can simply build their own integrated offerings based on their customers’ requirements.

Tech Mahindra will also utilize CommVault’s cloud consultancy best practices and expertise to establish a cloud solutions center of excellence in their Bangalore facility.

The partnership is crucial and strategic, taking into account the specific technology and business needs of Tech Mahindra’s global alliances looking to make the transition to become true MSPs,” said Paul McClure, chief technologist, cloud solutions group, CommVault. “We are also actively engaged with Tech Mahindra’s cloud Solutions Center of Excellence. We see many of our partners’ customers struggling to effectively implement services that are potentially very profitable because of a lack of practical expertise on how to monetize their offerings. Our consultancy methodology for the CSG group is based on this very foundation and is focused on making our partners more profitable, more quickly than their competitors.

CommVault’s ongoing cloud strategy builds on its software innovation and, through strategic relationships with service provider partners, delivers solutions to simplify and secure the transition to cloud computing for customers. To achieve this, the company utilizes its singular software platform to power cloud infrastructures, continues to expand market reach through a broad cloud partner ecosystem, and continues to invest in its cloud solutions group.

CommVault’s CSG team works collaboratively with service provider partners around the world to help them design and deliver services across backup, archive, DR, and more – all from a single architectural platform.

A belief in a better way to address current and future data management needs – guides CommVault in the development of singular information management solutions for data protection, universal availability and simplified management of data on complex storage networks. CommVault’s single-platform architecture gives companies control over data growth, costs and risk. Simpana software suite of products was designed to work together from the ground up, sharing a single code and common function set, to deliver data protection, archive, replication, search and resource management capabilities.
