Box Selected by US Department of Justice

Box, Inc. is working with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to deliver file sharing and information management to the agency’s workforce.

After rigorous assessment, Box will receive an agency authorization to operate last week, allowing the DOJ to leverage the platform across all its component agencies. DOJ awarded Box a contract to securely manage agency information, increasing productivity and improving mission outcomes.

DOJ selected Box to:

• Simplify internal and external collaboration between Component agencies and third party organizations;
• Support mobile and offline access to content for employees regardless of location; and
• Reduce complexity of infrastructure by eliminating fragmented content and document management tools.
  

Box has more than 40 federal government customers. Agencies and departments servicing healthcare, military, educational, judicial, legislative and regulatory components of the US Federal Government are using Box to be more efficient, streamlined and agile. The company also announced that they are pursuing FedRAMP compliance through the Agency Authorization Path with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as the sponsor and brought on Sonny Hashmi, former CIO for the US General Services Administration, to lead government strategy.
