TS7650G Model DD6, introduced in March 2016, running IBM ProtecTIER Enterprise Edition V3.4 has been enhanced to support single- and dual-node FSI configurations.
When two FSI nodes are installed in the same Model DD6, both nodes must utilize the same host interface, either 1GbE or 10GbE. Installing two FSI nodes in a single Model DD6 reduces the rack space requirements when compared to the rack space requirements of two separate Model DD5 gateways.
Model DD6 has also been enhanced to support a field upgrade to convert a single node VTL system to a clustered VTL system.
Key prerequisites
- ProtecTIER Enterprise Edition software is preloaded on TS7650G Model DD6 to create a valid TS7650G
- ProtecTIER Deduplication Gateway. A separate order for ProtecTIER Enterprise Edition is required.
- When configured as a VTL, TS7650G requires a standard FC SAN environment. A variety of disk-based storage can be attached to this server gateway.
