ViON Revealing FortresStore Archive Solution

ViON Corporation launched an active archive solution, FortresStore.

It simplifies the management of unstructured data and lowers data center storage costs by consolidating disparate unstructured data stores into a consolidated, searchable repository.

FortresStore is a low cost, scalable archive solution that can be accessed by users from anywhere. It allows organizations to automatically centralize and manage file content and delivers seamless, integrated access to user files. FortresStore, powered by Commvault Systems, Inc.’s software, has a rich set of capabilities that allow it to archive and protect files from virtually any location, on any device.

FortresStore addresses the challenge organizations face as the growth of unstructured data has outpaced the capabilities of traditional storage systems. IDC reports that file storage is growing at a rate of 75x over the next six years. To compound the problem of unstructured data growth, there have been growing demands to preserve and archive data for compliance, e-discovery and big data analytics.

FortresStore delivers a available, scale-out architecture that allows customers to add compute and capacity dynamically without interruption. It can scale from as little as 50TB to multi-petabyte environments. It offers an solution for multi-site architectures by leveraging data deduplication, compression and bandwidth throttling. This allows data consolidation across the WAN. FortresStore facilitates file server consolidation and migration.
