The launch of the combined solution is the latest in series of new services targeting Qatar’s SMB sector.

Ooredoo has long provided bespoke storage and backup services for companies at its network of company’s data centres.

The solution is designed as a standardised solution for businesses that require remote data protection easily and cost-effectively, without having to invest in infrastructure.

Hosted at the company’s data centre, the solution offers automated backup and flexible recovery options for all enterprise data, ranging from OSs to virtual environments, databases, email and ERP applications.

By deploying the solution, businesses benefit from highly-available, scalable backup and storage, with optional local and remote data protection for server systems located in the Qatar data centre. Solutions range from storage for production databases, to low-cost storage for web content, text files, images, and other shared or archived data.

With the Managed Storage Service, customers can benefit from a modular purchasing model, centralised storage for building private clouds, better capacity management and planning, and highly available uptime and scalable capacity. The company’s Managed Backup Service can be deployed in tandem with the Ooredoo Managed Storage Service.

It provides immediate access to a range of features, including connection to the enterprise backup infrastructure, support for rapid enterprise data growth and associated overflow as well as long term archival of critical records.

The services are for organisations in Qatar that don’t have the extensive resources necessary to manage a storage and backup infrastructure in-house, relieving them of the burden of procuring and operating complex storage systems.

To ensure affordability for customers, Ooredoo offers the services on a fully-managed basis with a flexible consumption model and cost structure, so that customers don’t incur any capital expenditure and virtually no operational headaches when they migrate their data to the Ooredoo data centre.

Company’s data centres provide a range of services including hosting and co-location, cloud services, web content delivery, backup and restoration, BC and DR, infrastructure monitoring and management and IT security for businesses.
