This all-in-one DR as a service (DRaaS) solution offers push-button failover, enabling any company to continue operations in the wake of a server failure, application outage, or natural disaster.

Businesses of all sizes are creating incredible amounts of irreplaceable data and depend on the availability of their systems to keep their business safe and operating. There are no exceptions,” said Ken Shaw Jr., founder and CEO, Infrascale. “Businesses have found traditional DR solutions – and even emerging DRaaS solutions – to be expensive, complex, and lacking adequate security.

These issues were echoed in a report published today by ActualTech Media in which the perceived high cost of DR was listed as the number one inhibitor to DRaaS adoption for 36% of respondents and the most important purchase criterion. Lack of IT resources and solution complexity were also listed as barriers to adoption.

With CFA, the company addresses those concerns by making enterprise-grade failover simple and affordable for companies. It is a thin, cloud-edge appliance-virtual or physical-that combines intelligent software with the power of the cloud to provide comprehensive failover functionality with integrated backup and archiving. With a push of a button, CFA can fail over VMs, servers, and applications ins, and an entire site in 15mn or less.

CFA features and benefits:

  • Enables push-button failover. IT administrators can virtualize and spin up critical business applications from the CFA appliance or within the cloud in minutes. Infrascale offers a 15mn guarantee for failover to a second site. CFA supports a variety of virtual and physical environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, and Windows/Linux platforms.

  • Reduces hardware, bandwidth, and software costs. Traditional DR and emerging DRaaS solutions often rely on expensive local storage, professional services, and vendor intervention. In contrast, CFA is completely self-service, empowering IT to fail over up to 200 VMs concurrently with the push of a button.

  • Protects data with military-grade security. CFA offers multiple levels of data protection: encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and optional private-key encryption.

According to Jason Buffington, senior data protection analyst, ESG, “We’ve never been as dependent on our data as we are today. Whether it’s a server outage or a site-wide disaster, IT professionals are expected to ensure that users can be productive, period. Similarly, IT pros are being asked to do more with less, which often results in the use of data-protection appliances, which are often complemented by cloud-services like that of Infrascale. As this segment of the market continues to mature, having an appliance that not only delivers backup and archiving, but also helps achieve ‘IT resiliency’ is absolutely the right direction to go.

The CFA is available for purchase through company’s partner network and selected volume resellers. It is available as a virtual or physical appliance.
