eFolder Adds Cloud-Based DR

eFolder, Inc., a supplier of BC services for the IT channel, announced that the eFolder BDR for Veeam service supports cloud-based DR for Veeam-protected vSphere environments.

This addition to the eFolder BDR for Veeam service enables IT channel partners to add profitable and reliable off-site backup and DR services to any Veeam software deployment, whether it is deployed in vSphere or Hyper-V environments.

VMware, Inc. is the market leader in virtualization software deployments. According to the IDC worldwide Quarterly Server Virtualization Tracker published in June 2014, vSphere represents 46.4% of the server virtualization market share. The same report found that Hyper-V represented 30.6% of the market.

Veeam has staked its position as the industry leader in backup, restore and replication of both vSphere and Hyper-V environments. Veeam boasts over 157,000 customers, 9.1 million VMs protected, and 29,000 partners, with the majority of Veeam deployments supporting vSphere environments.

eFolder BDR for Veeam, a service that was launched in March 2015, is designed for delivery by IT channel partners and leverages Veeam Availability Suite v8 to replicate backup images to the eFolder Cloud, providing verified VM backups in the cloud to defend against any type of business disaster. Partners that deploy eFolder BDR for Veeam have multiple ways to recover VMs from vSphere or Hyper-V environments in the event of an outage or site-wide disaster, including cloud-based recovery in the eFolder Continuity Cloud.
