Acronis Backup as a Service delivers value data protection capabilities that create revenue streams for partners without a large upfront investment.

Powered by the AnyData Engine, Backup as a Service provides deployment flexibility, including a solution for service providers hosted in Acronis data centers, a hybrid offer with  hosted management console leveraging service provider’s local storage, and a complete service provider hosted and managed deployment.

Service providers like US Signal Company as well as distributors have adopted Backup as a Service to expand their service portfolio to include backup and recovery in order to create revenue streams without large upfront investments. The service is easy to adopt, provides a pay-for-use model and provides complete protection that customers require, including support for workstations, Windows, Linux, physical and virtual servers. Underscoring the growing trend of distributors building their businesses by provisioning cloud services, such market players are now delivering Backup as a Service through their Cloud Services Division.

Acronis Backup as a Service enables us to effectively protect customer data with a tailored, comprehensive, reliable, and cost-effective service. The Acronis solution’s key feature allowing US Signal Partners the ability to white label the backup as a service offering, was a determining factor in our software choice“, said Trevor Bidle, VP technical strategy, US Signal. “And, support for Openstack enables us to natively use open source CEPH storage technology to reduce our storage costs, while also giving us unprecedented performance, flexibility, and scalability.

Backup as a Service is a multi-tier/multi-tenant solution, providing local and hybrid storage of backed up data, local backup on customer premise, and local recovery plus recovery from cloud. The service provides advanced security, including SSL encryption of management channels and in-transit and at-rest AES256 encryption.

The company has provided cloud backup since 2010, and recently opened data centers in Germany and Japan to complement those in place in United States, France, Russia and Singapore.

Opportunities abound for service providers, including backup, secure file access and sharing and disaster-recovery solutions,” said Serguei Beloussov, CEO and co-founder, Acronis. “Acronis Backup as a Service gives them the ability to offer advanced data protection to their customers with an easily managed and monitored high-margin service that delivers security and scalability.
