Synerway Revenue Up 40% in 2H14

Eighteen months after taking the reins at Synerway SAS, the company fronted by Yann Rolland and Noël Minard has enjoyed growth in sales and renewed profitability.

In the first six months of the fiscal year to 31st December 2014, sales are up 40 % with a forecast of 50% and a net profit for the remainder of the year.

This uptake helps finance Synerway’s driving force its R&D teams. From 15 employees in 2013 there are 22 today with 3 openings currently being finalized (support, R&D and sales). Synerway has deployed 500 new backup appliances over the past year bringing the total number of active appliances to over 8,500.

Working with a lead generator firm, sales efforts have been made since last summer to isolate 150 opportunities each one redistributed to the partner network. Channel sales policy has also evolved. Instead of the initial plan to recruit 200 new partners, the company has concentrated on greater skill sets and the commercial implication of a smaller number of more specialized partners such as Infocentre SAS (Groupe Esus SARL) and SCC SAS and more recently Komposite (C.S.C. Informatique) SAS and Datasystems ingénierie SARL. A second French VAD, Pact Informatique SA will strengthen the national footprint. Further afield, distribution contracts have been signed with partners in Tunisia and Dubai.

R&D developments continue with the release of the latest major version which incorporates unlimited CDP licenses suitable for larger accounts and multi-site customers with high data volumes to protect for both physical and virtual environments. This range includes all the traditional features of the Synerway range with additional continuous protection components (block mode protection modules from FalconStor Software Inc., a historical Synerway partner). New recovery tools allow clients to test DR of their infrastructures even without local IT skills.

The new range of Synerway appliance from 1TB to 100TB can be combined with a service-based reseller-branded backup solution operated by the company.
