Operations and Partnerships in Japan for Nexenta

Office in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, led by Jun Matsuura

Nexenta, Inc., launched its Japanese office located in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and led by Jun Matsuura, Japan country manager.

The goal of the office is to expand Nexenta’s purpose-built storage OS offerings in the Japanese market.

Nexenta Japan will achieve its growth goals by distributing software-defined storage solutions through partners Core Micro Systems Inc. and Ascentech K.K.

NexentaStor, SDS solution released by Nexenta in 2008, is deployed on close to an exabyte of raw capacity across thousands of customer deployments in the US, European and AsiaPac markets.

In Japan, Nexenta solutions have been proven as enterprise storage solutions delivered on industry standard x86 servers and JBOD. They deliver high capacity storage with performance, flexibility and scalability on par with traditional storage offerings and at a lower TCO. The performance and robustness of the offerings enables end users to address the issue of growing data stores, managed under a shrinking IT budget.

Nexenta specializes in software development of storage solutions, and enables organizations to integrate with various hardware providers via certified reference architectures.

Additionally, in cooperation with virtualization and cloud platform partners including VMware, Inc., Citrix Systems, Inc., OpenStack, CloudStack, and others, Nexenta engages industry-wide in the challenge of managing data growth. In Japan,

Nexenta will offer products and support through distributors and system integrators.

Nexenta’s Software-Defined Storage Products
NexentaStor is based on the ZFS file system. In addition to reliability and availability, it has features for enterprise systems, such as HA vluster and replication, easy management though a web console and integration with VMware and OpenStack.

The NexentaConnect product suite accelerates VDI environments, and supports performance monitoring and other enhancements of Citrix XenDesktop, VMware Horizon View, Virtual SAN and others.
