Kaminario Triples Bookings in 2Q14

80% of customers expand implementations following initial purchase

Kaminario, Inc. announced growth and customer success following the launch of their fifth-generation all-flash array in late May.

The company has achieved almost three times year-over-year growth in Q2 bookings and continues its 100% satisfaction rate with customers, with 80% choosing to expand their implementations following initial purchase.

This traction demonstrates Kaminario’s success in providing a solution that allows organizations to start small and grow their storage needs over time, as well as the recognition for all-flash arrays to deliver on the critical needs of enterprise storage.

451 Research estimates that the all-flash array market is growing at a 42% CAGR, expecting it to grow from $580 million in 2013 to $3.4 billion in 2018. According to the research, almost a quarter of enterprises are reporting planned all-flash array projects. With more companies than ever choosing all-flash arrays, Kaminario is well-positioned in this space with a solution built to address the needs of a modern data center. The success of the fifth-generation K2 in just three months validates the demand for efficient, cost-effective and scalable storage solutions across enterprises worldwide.

We’re constantly striving to create a top-quality storage solution that exceeds the standards of today’s storage market. The tremendous growth in bookings and surge in customer demand we’ve witnessed since the launch of our fifth-generation K2 validates these efforts,” said Dani Golan, founder and CEO, Kaminario. “In many ways, this is just the beginning for the flash industry with more enterprises than ever looking to adopt all-flash arrays for their storage needs. Our customers trust us to grow with them and we’ll continue to deliver the most efficient, cost-effective and scalable solution on the market for years to come.”

Customer Uptake, Expanded Implementations, Go-to-Market Growth
Since the launch of its fifth-generation K2, Kaminario has added customers, with 60% bookings from new wins and 40% from existing customers. Customers span across many industries, including a leading hedge fund provider, a top federal agency in the United States and a leading provider of transportation management software.

After reviewing the Kaminario solution, we found that this platform improves virtual environment system preference,” said Roni Ben-Yishai, CIO, Ashkelon Academic College. “Thanks to Kaminario, we can now provide students with a fast virtual computing system that is both stable and reliable with better response times. We received a storage solution that’s simple to manage and that will enable us to increase storage capacity without compromising performance. With Kaminario, we can provide our students virtual stations with a high level of service with no bottlenecks or signs of slowing down.”

In addition to customer growth, Kaminario has accelerated hires across the company to address the influx of new customers and repeat business. The company has seen 25%t growth in overall headcount quarter-over-quarter and expects to maintain that clip for the next four quarters.

K2 was also recently awarded Most Innovative Flash Memory Technology at the 2014 Flash Memory Summit’s annual best of show awards, named a major contender in the flash storage market by 451 Research and listed in CRN‘s Emerging Vendors 2014: Storage Vendors.
