Dropmysite Rebrands to Dropsuite

In backup, recovery and archiving

Highlights

  • Brings cloud-based website backup (Dropmysite), email backup and archiving (Dropmyemail), mobile backup (Dropmymobile), and server backup (DSE Server Backup) solutions under a single brand – Dropsuite
  • Reaches millions of SMEs worldwide through partners including tech giants GoDaddy, Singtel; takes aim at $11.92 billion DR as a service (DRaaS) market
  • Helmed by former Google and Dell executive; backed by global investors including Hatcher and 500 start-ups

Dropmysite Pte Ltd, a provider of cloud-based backup solutions for SMBs has rebranded to Dropsuite.

The rebrand sets the stage for a vision, business strategy and ambition, with a product and service capability. Dropsuite offers backup, recovery and archiving, having consolidated three standalone brands Dropmysite (website and database backup); Dropmyemail (email backup); and Dropmymobile (mobile backup).

Dropsuite has also launched a solution, DSE Server Backup, which provides file-based server backup. DSE Server Backup is a BC tool that makes backup and recovery quick and affordable for businesses. It looks to eliminate business risks caused by avoidable data loss through public or on-premise cloud integrations of their software solutions.

The company, backed by investors Hatcher Pte Ltd and 500 start-ups, is helmed by former Google and Dell executive Charif Elansari, who is driving its internationalization and rapid expansion.

Charif ElansariDropsuite is accelerating growth to tap on favourable, growing business trends around BC, data recovery and protection. Singapore based Dropsuite CEO Charif Elansari said: “downtime and data loss is a massive issue, with a wide range of consequences, yet the backup experience for SMEs is often difficult and expensive. We see a tremendous global opportunity in helping SMBs. They are underserved by IT security programs and system architectures. We help SMEs recover and get back to business as quickly as possible, ensuring they are not out of business; it’s simply better backup.

According to Sophos, around 30,000 SME websites are hacked each day. British insurance company Lloyd’s estimates that businesses lose around $400 billion to hackers each year. Meanwhile, research firm MarketsandMarkets estimates the DR as a service market will see significant growth, from $1.42 billion in 2015 to $11.92 billion in 2020 – a CAGR of 52.9%. Key to this is a sharp rise in SMEs demanding effective DR and backup services to reduce downtime costs, recovery time and complexities, and data loss.

Dropsuite signed partnerships with Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd (the no. 1 hosting company in Ireland) and OzHosting.com Pty Ltd in Australia. Other partners include GoDaddy Operating Company, LLC (the world’s largest domain name registrar), GMO Internet, Inc. (the no.1 hosting company in Japan), HostPapa, Inc. (the no.1 hosting company in Canada) and Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel, a communications group in Asia). Through these partners, Dropsuite now boasts a potential SME customer reach numbering in the millions.

John Sharp, CEO, venture capital fund Hatcher, a Dropsuite investor, sees potential in Dropsuite’s team and product innovation, said: “Backup for SME’s is a complex task, which Dropsuite has simplified. It has fantastic complementary set of products and skills, having put in place a team with a proven track record in developing platforms and cloud-based solutions. In just a short amount of time, Dropsuite has signed a number of leading global partners. We are confident of Dropsuite’s potential to continue solving complex business issues around continuity, fast achieving its global ambitions and capabilities.

Dropsuite looks to become a leader in BC services, helping businesses stay in business. It does this by providing simple, cost-effective solutions to SMEs to backup, recover and protect their digital assets.
