5,000 Customers for Nimble Storage

Since shipping first CS-Series array in 2010

Just four and a half years after shipping its first Adaptive Flash platform, Nimble Storage, Inc., announced that more than 5,000 customers worldwide have adopted its Storage Adaptive Flash platform..

Since shipping the first CS-Series array in 2010, Nimble has established a track record for delivering innovation. In the first half of 2014 the company introduced its high-end CS700 platform and All Flash Shelf as part of the Adaptive Flash platform, addressing all-flash workloads as well as petabyte-scale deployments within a single platform. In the second half of the year the company refreshed its platform portfolio to increase price-performance by more than 50%. The most advance came with the early release of FC functionality across the CS-Series arrays enabling Nimble to address enterprise storage requirements and quadruple the addressable market the company is able to serve.

The Adaptive Flash platform continues to gain traction with enterprise customers and cloud service providers. Enterprise customers include: Target Commercial Interiors, Inc., National Information Solutions Cooperative, Inc., CareOregon, Inc., LANDESK Software, Gorkana Group, National Cable Communications, LLC, Deltek, Inc., Grant Street Group, Inc., Kern Health Systems, Energy Information Administration, HeliMods Pty, Ltd, and Queensland Sugar Ltd. cloud service provider customers include: SingleHop, LLC, Xtium, Inc., Avanade, Inc., and BlueTie, Inc.

Surpassing the 5,000th customer milestone so quickly represents the collective commitment to excellence of our dedicated and passionate employees. I want to thank our entire organization, as well as our customers and partners,” said Suresh Vasudevan, CEO, Nimble. “The Nimble Adaptive Flash platform underscores the comprehensive nature of our approach to leveraging the three major disruptive changes in the storage market: flash, cloud and converged infrastructure. We are uniquely positioned to leverage these architectural changes and emerge as the market leader. Our value proposition to enterprises and cloud service providers as a platform that can consolidate enterprise-wide workloads cost-effectively, with vastly better performance, superior data protection and lower complexity will enable us to continue to accelerate our high win rates against the leading incumbent platforms.

Even though we really hammer our Nimble arrays – they always come out without a scratch! Although performance was the main reason we moved to Nimble, we also value its simplicity. There are very few commands or clicks needed to get the Nimble infrastructure up and running,” said Amit Patel, network system manager, Linear Technology, Inc.

The ease of management and flexibility we get with Nimble is simply fantastic. Once we deployed Nimble, the average response time for SAP requests immediately dropped from 1400µs on NetApp’s product to under 400µs on the Nimble platform. Our SAP users went from wanting to hang me to wanting to thank me!,” said Tom Patterson, director of IT, Cricut, a registered trademark of Provo Craft & Novelty, Inc.

We selected Nimble as one of our strategic storage partners as they are able to deliver a smaller footprint, drive capital costs that were lower, and deliver substantial savings on power, cooling and other operating costs. We were able to accommodate hundreds of snapshot-based backups in addition to hosting the production Exchange data. These benefits have given us the confidence to use Nimble as a cloud storage services platform to support our hosted services for many of our global clients,” said Rich Stern, corporate VP, infrastructure services, Avanade, Inc.
