1Q14 Growth Nearly 250% of Last Year’s Revenue for Backupify

Currently backing 700,000 users from 8,000 companies

Backupify, Inc., provider of cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for SaaS applications, announced its best quarter on record with Q1 growth being nearly 250% of last year’s revenue.

The company is on pace, yet again for another year of major growth. The first few months of the year were marked by substantial milestones for Backupify, especially in the area of product innovation.

On the heels of a successful 2013, Backupify once again grew its customer base in Q1 2014 and is currently backing up more than 700,000 users from nearly 8,000 companies including Essence Digital, Vassar College, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Iora Health – all companies that became Backupify customers in the first quarter of 2014.

In the first three months of 2014, Backupify restored 9,779,437 records or 108,660 files per day (or 1.2 files per second).

The growth we have seen this year is evidence that the market is at an inflection point,” said Rob May, CEO, Backupify. “Analyst firms such as Forrester Research have validated the need to backup data in cloud applications. Cloud-to-cloud backup is growing out of the nascent market phase and we predict 2014 will be a huge year for both Backupify and for the industry.”

Product Innovation
With a vision to expand cloud-to-cloud backup to additional cloud applications, Backupify announced plans to support 12 additional cloud applications by year end including Box, NetSuite, Zendesk, Dropbox, Office 365 and more. The consolidated Backupify platform will securely protect data in the cloud.

One-click restore was recently added to Backupify for Salesforce, ensuring that Salesforce admins can quickly and seamlessly restore data back into their Salesforce.com accounts. The one-click restore feature gives users the ability to restore objects such as accounts, leads, contacts, opportunities and more.

Expanding the Channel
Backupify continues to focus on growing the channel to expand the company’s footprint across the globe and has seen notable growth in the UK, Canada, India and the APAC region, which confirms the need for cloud-to-cloud backup solutions outside the U.S.

Benayoun backupify Additionally, Backupify recently hired Michael Benayoun as director of channel sales. With experience in enterprise software sales, he will play a major role in bringing Backupify to new markets. He was previously at Webtrends, ImageSource Inc., and IBM.
