This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Mon, January 24th, 2011
Interoperable with ESX 4.0 and 4.1
Overland Storage announced that its SnapSAN S1000 has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that the SnapSAN S1000 has passed an evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and is now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility List.
Passing the VMware-specified testing helps ensure that the SnapSAN S1000 makes best use of VMware technology and is ready for deployment in customer environments.
"We are pleased that the SnapSAN S1000 qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and is ready to run in production environments," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.
"The SnapSAN S1000 offers businesses trusted, reliable and seamless interoperability with virtual infrastructures," said Joe Disher, product marketing manager, Overland Storage.
The SnapSAN S1000 modular storage array is a platform for providing non-stop storage services to demanding applications. Designed for high availability, the S1000 combines data protection features and reliability with flexible host connectivity to ensure that it will integrate into any storage environment. Installation and management are simple with a choice of single or dual controllers - iSCSI, Fibre Channel, or SAS connectivity - and the ability to scale to 120TB.
The VMware Ready programme is a VMware co-branding programme for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) programme. With more than 1700 members worldwide, the VMware TAP programme works with technology partners to provide them a set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
