To Avid Interplay suite
Object Matrix Limited, developer of scalable nearline archive systems, announces updates to InterConnect, the integration of its disk-based archive product MatrixStore with Avid Technology, Inc.'s production management suite Interplay.

InterConnect allows editors to move content in and out of a nearline archive without needing to leave the comfort of the Avid environment. This one-click archive and restore functionality enables more cost-effective and efficient workflows whilst also enabling editors to find, use and re-use archived content.
Version 1.0 of InterConnect has been well received since its launch in August 2011 with sales to national broadcasters, academic institutions and post-production facilities across Europe. Customers have been choosing the solution to solve the main problem in their Interplay workflow, namely, freeing up space on their Avid ISIS storage platform. By moving the master clips onto MatrixStore storage space has been liberated on the ISIS allowing new project work to commence. InterConnect customers receive the new features free of charge.
The new features included in v1.2
of the InterConnect application include:
MatrixStore acts as a pre-production, nearline or long-term disk-based archive, allowing content to move through any digital workflow from ingest to delivery. Implementing a tapeless or file-based workflow has been highlighted as one of the top challenges facing creative organizations. With no tape to put on the shelf broadcasters, post-production facilities and creative agencies are looking for a solution to keep their assets secure and available throughout the production process. A single MatrixStore cluster acts as rushes/dailies, nearline or local archive allowing content to move through any digital workflow from ingest to delivery.
InterConnect v1.2 is available for demonstration and purchase on 14th February from Object Matrix and its worldwide network of business partners.
