With 2TB 7200rpm SATA II HDDs
A 2 TB/7200 rpm Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) II disk drive module (DDM) is now available for the IBM System Storage DS3950 Express Disk System and selected models of the System Storage DS4000 series Midrange Disk System from IBM Corp.
These new 2 TB SATA II disk drive features can double the current storage capacity of DS3950 and DS4000 series configurations when using SATA disk drives and are available for the following models:
These new 2 TB SATA II disk drive features can double the current storage capacity of DS3950 and DS4000 series configurations when using SATA disk drives and are available for the following models:
- DS4000 EXP810 Storage Expansion Unit (1812-81A and 1812-81S)
- DS4000 EXP420 Storage Expansion Unit (1812-8VA)
- DS4700 Express Models (1814-70A, 1814-70S, 1814-72A and 1814-72S)
- DS4200 Express Model 7V (1814-7VA)
- The DS3950 disk system must be at firmware level 7.60.28.xx or later, to enable support for the 2 TB/7.2K SATA II disk drive option.
- The DS4000 disk systems must be one of the following firmware levels to enable support for the 2 TB/7.2K SATA II disk drive options: 7.60.28.xx or later, 7.50.13.xx, 7.36.17.xx, or 6.60.22.xx.
- DS4000 EXP810 Storage Expansion Units (1812-81A and 1812-81S)
- DS4700 Express Models (1814-70A, 1814-70S, 1814-72A and 1814-72S)
- DS4000 EXP420 Storage Expansion Unit (1812-8VA)
- DS4200 Express Model 7V (1814-7VA)
