HighPoint Technologies announces SAS/SATA performance testing results benefiting workstations needing high throughput with the RocketRAID 2640x4 PCI-Express x4 SAS RAID controller.

When the RocketRAID 2640x4 was tested with (4) 15,000 RPM SAS drives the sustained READ/WRITE performance approaches 500MB/s. When testing with (4) SATA drives sustained READ/WRITE performance approaches 370MB/s and using a mixture of high performing SAS and high capacity SATA drives offered good sustainable performance results that approached 330 MB/s.
