This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Thu, May 22nd, 2008
Supporting PCI-Express x1, x4 and x8, 2 to 16 ports, SAS and SATA HDDs
The current generation of desktop and server motherboards have multiple PCI-Express slots for peripheral devices to meet the high throughput demands of data intensive applications that process digital images, video, and CAD/CAM applications. These applications have consequently raised demands for larger storage capacities for back up and archive purpose which the storage industry has responded with the availability of inexpensive large capacity SATA drives.
VAR’s (Value Added Resellers) and Storage Solution Providers have the difficult task of satisfying customer demands for higher capacity storage but are faced with a plethora of storage vendors that do not offer a comprehensive RAID storage solution.
HighPoint is able to deliver a complete and comprehensive PCI-Express RAID storage solution to meet all user storage demands with a 'One Size Does Not Fit All' PCI-Express product line.
HighPoint’s comprehensive PCI-Express series of RAID controllers support every PCI-Express bus type that is available in this generation of desktop and server motherboards with PCI-Express (x1, x4 and x8). The comprehensive series of RAID controller’s support (SAS and SATA) hard drive interfaces including the highest performing SAS 15K RPM drives and large capacity 7200 RPM 1TB (Terabyte) SATA hard drives. Multiple ports from 2 to 16 in PCI-Express RAID series give customers the flexibility to add more storage as their demand grows. The port design in the PCI-Express series includes (External, Internal and Hybrid) connections to storage with industry standard connectivity with robust functionality connecting to external storage, internal storage or mixing and matching between internal and external storage with (hybrid controllers).
The HighPoint comprehensive PCI-Express series of RAID controller support RAID (0, 1, 5, 10 and JBOD) for data protection and include HighPoint Terabyte technologies for data reliability.
