GreenBytes GB-X Appliances Citrix Ready

For in-line de-dupe
GreenBytes, Inc. announced that
the company’s GB-X Series of inline
deduplication storage appliances have been certified as Citrix
Ready.
The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix. The GreenBytes GB-X storage appliances completed a verification process to ensure compatibility with Citrix StorageLink.
GreenBytes’GB-X Series is an ideal fit for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) storage, enabling users to take full control of their GreenBytes array using the integrated Citrix StorageLink technology. Users can rapidly deploy VDIs with a 90% or more reduction in storage requirements versus non-intelligent arrays, and scale to thousands of concurrent users with the only iSCSI array to combine inline deduplication and multi-tier, highly scalable IOPS caches. Feature highlights include:
The GreenBytes/Citrix StorageLink solution allows for accelerated time to provision and activate virtual machines (VMs) and VDIs. What has traditionally taken hours can now be accomplished in a few minutes with the StorageLink management interface. Additionally, the GB-X Series can make many VDI instances in a fraction of the time it takes to manually create storage LUNs. Array based cloning and inline deduplication allows the GreenBytes/Citrix solution to create a large number of VM instances with data storage reduction of 90% or more.
With GreenBytes’ SSD-accelerated architecture, VDIs stored on GreenBytes GB-X Series appliances are highly responsive. Unlike traditional ‘spindle-count = performance’ storage architectures, the GB-X SSD cache acceleration will sustain IOPS to withstand boot-storm stresses with minimal footprint of conventional magnetic disk drives. The synergy between Citrix and GreenBytes combines ease of administration with minimal storage footprint and the IOPS of ten or more ordinary arrays.
“We are pleased to have GreenBytes join us in the Citrix Ready program,” said John Fanelli, vice president of solutions and community marketing at Citrix Systems, Inc. “Citrix Ready makes it easier for customers to select the most suitable virtualization infrastructure products for their specific needs. By taking part in our program, GreenBytes has enabled its customers to obtain the highest quality user experience available today, and the simplest means for making an informed product purchasing selection.”
Customers can be confident that the GreenBytes GB-X Series storage appliances have successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix and can be trusted to work effectively with StorageLink.
“With GreenBytes’ verification as Citrix Ready, this dramatically increases our visibility to Citrix customers and channels, clearly demonstrating our commitment to providing solutions that add value to Citrix products,” said Bob Petrocelli, chief executive officer of GreenBytes. “Integrated with StorageLink, GreenBytes’ unique combination of inline deduplication and high I/O performance marks a significant leap forward in storage technology for VDI environments.”
In related company news, GreenBytes is currently participating in the videos Citrix Ready StorageLink Challenge, a competition where Citrix storage vendor partners can demonstrate their product capabilities and integration with StorageLink in a short video.
