Dot Hill Introduces RAID Solutions With SAS 450GB 15K HDDs

Dot Hill storage solutions with 450GB drives allow customers to increase valuable SAS storage capacity by up to 50 percent at new lower dollar-per-gigabyte pricing. The high capacity drives significantly improve performance for customers running database and online transaction processing applications.
Dot Hill is now offering this latest generation of high-performance 15K, 3.5-inch form factor drives for its Series 2000 and 5000 product lines. In addition, 450GB Fibre Channel drives will soon be available for the Dot Hill SANnet II FC family of arrays.
"Dot Hill's ability to bring these drives to market so quickly is a testimonial to the versatility of their R/Evolution architecture," said Paul Hickingbotham, solutions manager, Hammer. "The 450GB of capacity gives us a real competitive edge with the ability to offer customers more than 48 terabytes of high performance data storage on 5730 midrange solutions."

Dot Hill is taking orders for RAID solutions with the new 450GB drives now. Customers should expect availability in the third quarter of 2008.
