DataDirect Provides Concurrent Access to 30 Uncompressed Apple Final Cut Pro HD Workstations

Shattering the bandwidth and concurrency limitations associated with conventional storage systems supporting Apple’s leading content editing suite, Final Cut Pro, DataDirect Networks validated that its flagship S2A9900 storage appliance is the only system that can support more than 30 Final Cut Pros running on uncompressed HD in real-time—orders of magnitude greater than any comparative offering.

DataDirect Networks’ eighth generation S2A platform, the industry-leading S2A9900, provides extreme performance and scalable capacity, with the ability to manage 1.2 petabytes in only two floor tiles and deliver sustained throughput of up to 6 gigabytes per second for both writes and reads, per appliance. In a cluster formation, S2A platforms currently deliver more than 100 gigabytes per second of throughput in high performance customer environments.
Additionally, the S2A9900 is the only storage platform that writes data as fast as it reads it, with guaranteed quality-of-service, which translates into consistently predictable performance for large content files and the ingest of multiple data streams critical for broadcasters, post-production facilities and video-on-demand providers.
