DataDirect Unveiled Storage Fusion Architecture 10K-X

DataDirect Networks, Inc. (DDN) unveiled the Storage Fusion Architecture (SFA) 10K-X, an integrated storage appliance that maximizes application performance while minimizing total cost of ownership for Big Data, cloud, and content-intensive environments.

Building on DDN's Storage Fusion Architecture, the new SFA10K-X is a storage foundation for data-intensive SAN, NAS and parallel file system applications, while also providing amplified performance for DDN's NAS Scaler, ExaScaler and GridScaler file storage solutions.

The SFA10K-X features performance efficiency while also flexibly supporting a variety of SSD, SATA and SAS media from a single, scalable system.

SFA10K-X highlights include:

• Accelerates big data and large content workloads, with read-write speeds of 15 GB/s, 25 percent faster than the SFA10000
• Exploits solid state drive technology to deliver over 840,000 I/Os
• Supports up to 1,200 drives (SSD, SATA, SAS) in a single system, while requiring 2 floor tiles
• Capable of housing up to 1.8PB in a single data center rack
• VMWare and VMWare ESX support to accelerate virtual server and desktop environments
