General Availability of Arkeia EdgeFort 500

Arkeia Software, provider of data protection software, announced the general availability of the EdgeFort 500 Series, an all-in-one, appliance-based, federated data protection solution.
The EdgeFort 500 Series comes standard with 5TB virtual tape library, disk-to-disk-to-tape management software, Fibre Channel connectivity and is fully integrated with Arkeia’s award- winning network backup software. The EdgeFort 500 is a fully integrated hardware and software backup system. Arkeia’s federated data management architecture allows remote and centralized data protection, making it possible for remote offices and branch offices to backup, restore and archive critical data, with no local IT resource needed.
“The availability of the 500 series expands the EdgeFort product line to address larger datacenters,” said Alain Pechon, CEO of Arkeia Software. “We now have a full range of appliances designed to address the data protection needs of small, medium and large enterprises. EdgeFort 100, 200, and 300 models were released last year and already customers in seventeen countries trust EdgeFort appliances to backup and recover their data. The 500 Series now provides an even more powerful option for enterprise data protection.”
EdgeFort 500 Series includes:
- Fully licensed Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape software with integrated 5TB VTL (expandable to 10TB) – allowing rapid disk backup and recovery and seamless migration to tape for archive
- Integrated RAID 5 disk – assuring reliable near-line data storage and rapid recovery
- Fibre Channel connection with SAN connectivity module – enabling off-site data archive, expansion, and scalability.
- Arkeia Network Backup software – the award-winning network backup software used by more than 5,000 enterprises worldwide
- Bundled client software for networked servers – removing expensive and time consuming management of licenses for protected servers
- Remote management software – enabling the management of multiple remote EdgeFort appliances through an all new Web Integrated and fully licensed encryption software – ensuring data is protected from creation through archive
Pricing and Availability
The EdgeFort product line includes 100, 200, 300, and 500 Series models as well as a Central Management Server. Pricing for the 500 Series begins at $28,000.
