For new S2100-ES2 Series 1910/2910 de-dupe system
SEPATON, Inc. unveiled its next-generation platform: version 6.0 software, which drives its new S2100-ES2 Series 1910/2910 system.
The new platform delivers grid scalability of both performance and capacity; fast performance; multi-protocol support; high-reliability; and deduplication. It is an enabler of private-cloud computing as well as a platform for the next-generation data protection capabilities needed in today’s enormous scale-out storage environments.

version 6.0 data protection platform:
S2100-ES2 Series 1910/2910 with version 6.0 software is shipping. Base pricing for the S2100-ES2 starts at $257.5K. Within 90 days, v6.0 software will be available at no charge to existing SEPATON customers on maintenance contracts with qualified hardware.

- Fast Performance - With performance of up to 1,500 MB/sec/node, the S2100 more than doubles the performance of previous models, making it five to ten times faster than the nearest competitive appliance solution. The platform features 64-bit hardware and software for processing performance as well as improved power efficiency, dynamic power management, and a more flexible 2U form factor. Customers can back up, deduplicate, and replicate massive data volumes faster, reduce backup windows, meet restore SLAs and/or RPO/RTOs with unparalleled scalability to eliminate system sprawl.
- Multi-Protocol Support - For the first time, the S2100-ES2 platform supports Symantec NetBackup OpenStorage (OST) on 10 Gb Ethernet concurrently with Fibre Channel tape emulation, eliminating many technology and platform migration issues for enterprise customers.
- Reliable Solution - The new platform uses reliable Hitachi Data Systems AMS 2100 disk arrays to deliver 99.999 percent data availability and features a variety of high reliability enhancements, including automatic snapshots of the DeltaStor database, a more streamlined software installation process; automatic verification of software versions on all nodes, intelligent handling of full storage pools, and redundant links between nodes.
- IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Capabilities - Only SEPATON has enhanced ContentAware technology that deduplicates both progressive incremental TSM backups and multi-streamed database backups. Enhancements in the new S2100 software deliver high deduplication ratios for the broadest set of TSM environments and use cases.
