Sepaton Supports Symantec NetBackup OpenStorage API

Additionally, SEPATON’s Director of Advanced Technology, Dennis Rolland, presented a session titled Innovative Deduplication Controls Costs and Cuts Capacity without Impeding Performance at the event.
"SEPATON brings industry leadership to disk-based data protection solutions for Symantec customers through its unique DeltaScale architecture and applications,” said Fidelma Russo, executive vice president of engineering and development, SEPATON, Inc. “The S2100-ES2 appliance with DeltaStor deduplication and DeltaRemote replication software enables data centers to manage increasingly complex backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) requirements. By integrating with OST, customers not only benefit from SEPATON’s industry leading multi-node scalability and performance but also from OST’s enriched features such as improved replication features, improved utilization and management of NetBackup Media Servers, and more efficient duplication of backup images for long-term archiving."
“SEPATON’s support of Symantec OST will enhance our ability to manage both local NetBackup operations, and remote DR activity,” said Don Vukas, SAN/Backup Administrator, US Department of Agriculture National Information Technology Center (USDA NITC). “This is an essential evolution of our environment, which supports clients from many different governmental agencies on large SEPATON systems. These VTL appliances with DeltaStor deduplication software have allowed us to increase the level and quality services we offer to our clients, while lowering the cost of daily operations.”
SEPATON’s suite of data protection solutions is fully compatible with Symantec NetBackup. To date, SEPATON and its channel partners have deployed solutions in over 1000 customer sites and currently have more than 100PB of data under protection with Symantec NetBackup solutions.
SEPATON plans the availability of OST support in the second half of 2010.
