Revinetix Upgrades RevOS to V3.5

Revinetix, in disk backup and disaster recovery cloud solutions, announced version 3.5 of its RevOS software, providing customers with increased archiving capacity, improved performance and an enhanced dashboard for monitoring appliance operations.

The latest upgrade supports all major operating systems and schedules automated backups down to the desktop level for every machine connected to a network - even those connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

The upgraded dashboard delivers real-time status of backup appliance operations, providing IT staff with information simply displayed in charts, gauges, and tables to help eliminate guesswork. Information is presented visually to indicate where action needs to be taken.

"The new dashboard is extremely intuitive and easy for our customers to use," said Randall Crocker, Revinetix vice president of marketing. "It puts the power of knowledge at their fingertips, providing up-to-the-minute information on their backups. We are hearing from customers that the dashboard is making a significant difference in improving efficiencies, particularly at the enterprise level."

The upgrade also includes enhancements to RevOS LiveBMR (Live Bare Metal Backup and Restore). Windows clients can be backed up while operating and in use. Additionally, improved active directory search in Exchange Mailbox increases overall performance in lookups within the backup system.

"With LiveBMR, RevOS eliminates the need to take systems offline for backups, restoration or recovery. The benefit of this capability means there is zero interruption to accessing the critical data required to run your business," said Randall Crocker, Revinetix vice president of marketing. "In tandem with the dashboard panel, IT staff have real-time access to backup activities which helps enhance control and increase productivity."

Also new in this latest release is support for certified 3TB archive drives to increase archiving capacities. RevOS monitors and queues alerts if disk devices are approaching capacity.

Central to Revinetix' technology and market approach is its Disk2Disk2Disk or D2D2D network backup philosophy. While traditional backup solutions transfer data from disks to tapes - a slow and often unreliable method - Revinetix offers total disk-based backup solutions, complete with preinstalled RevOS management software, Live Bare Metal Restore (LiveBMR) BMR utility and support for off-site archiving and replication.

RevOS is included on every Revinetix Sentio Pro and Sentio HD disk backup appliance. Cloud-based byte-level replication and deduplication features are used for disaster recovery and storage optimization. RevOS requires no additional software programs and a single license supports an unlimited number of clients.
