NTP Software Storage Billing System continues to extend its cross-platform capabilities by adding native support for the EMC Celerra platform. Using a single set of policies, customers can now calculate and bill for storage across Windows, EMC, NetApp, IBM and HP, whether configured as NAS, SAN or DAS. This provides a simple, unified view of storage costs throughout the environment independent of host platform.
NTP Software Storage Billing System allows customers to automatically calculate/allocate storage costs and bill user communities for the resources they consume. These costs can be internal 'soft' dollars, or hard bills rendered to commercial customers of storage services. In addition to providing for various cost models, NTP Software Storage Billing System includes a Financial Modeling function which allows customers to create what-if scenarios that can predict future revenue or back calculate internal rates.
"Our customers have been looking for an easy and effective way to allocate their storage costs based on the different tiers of storage, across diverse platforms," said Bruce Backa, CEO of NTP Software. "Our enhancements to Storage Billing System address these critical needs and should result in better visibility of storage costs and improved utilization of storage by our customers."
Responding to the request of its user community, NTP Software has enhanced Storage Billing Syste to automatically calculate on and bill for tiered storage. The solution has always allowed for different rates and flexible billing plans. Now it is expanded to allow for rate differentials for various tiers of storage. This is significant as cost metrics, volume of data, and business requirements are driving companies to more closely manage storage and store data in the appropriately hosted tiers.
NTP Software Storage Billing System 4.0 is available now.
