Artisan, Double-Take Build Cloud Application Template

Artisan Infrastructure, a wholesale-only compute infrastructure provider, and Double-Take Software have jointly established a combined disaster recovery and data backup cloud computing application template for use by managed service providers over Cornerstone, Artisan’s virtual Private Data Center platform. The company made the announcement during the CompTia Breakway 2010 IT conference in San Antonio.
Double-Take Software’s combined disaster recovery and data backup template is among numerous solution templates that currently stand on Cornerstone, Artisan’s vPDC platform. Managed service providers, systems integrators and value added resellers can pick, demonstrate and choose their own solutions from a catalog of templates and use Artisan’s infrastructure as if it is their own.
"Imagine, as a service provider, the ability to choose a complex solution from a catalog of templates that can be put into production almost overnight. No more trial and error; no more developer time. Artisan Infrastructure makes it as simple as entering a software license key," said Brian Hierholzer, president of Artisan Infrastructure.
Artisan’s Cornerstone vPDC platform is solutions-agnostic to readily accommodate the choice and variety of applications and specific industry requirements service providers need.
"Artisan is bringing on new software solution partners for Cornerstone almost daily, making it easy for these selling partners to showcase and demonstrate their solutions," Hierholzer said. "Software firms can build templates of their solutions on Cornerstone that our service provider customers can spin up immediately and use to compete with larger hosting firms."
Artisan Infrastructure’s target-customers include managed service providers, systems integrators, software developers, communications providers and value added resellers with a wide range of compute and storage demands.
Cornerstone, Artisan’s virtual Private Data Center compute platform is built using products from the industry’s top vendors, including Cisco, Dell, Juniper Networks, NetApp and VMware.
All Artisan Infrastructure solutions are housed in multiple, geographically diverse, SAS 70-certified data centers to provide maximum redundancy and security.
