With the addition of Eric Herzog to its management team, Tarmin will continue to enhance its sales and marketing capabilities, while delivering solutions that solve critical enterprise and mid-market archiving, compliance, governance, and e-discovery issues for unstructured data. “Eric Herzog’s extremely successful sales and marketing track record demonstrates his critical role in growing strong companies,” said Shahbaz Ali, CEO of Tarmin. “His broad knowledge and expertise of the storage software marketplace will be critical as Tarmin delivers on its NOADS™ (Networked Object Aware Data Storage) offering, our novel paradigm in intelligent, active archiving for enterprise and mid-market companies.”
Most recently vice president of marketing and operations at Asempra Technologies, Herzog will offer Tarmin his extensive executive and management expertise in storage software and subsystem solutions to lead Tarmin’s sales and marketing team. He has over 20 years of experience and has managed all aspects of marketing and sales in both start-up and large corporate environments.
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunities at Tarmin from a market and business perspective,” said Eric Herzog, vice president of sales and marketing for Tarmin. “Tarmin’s unique, intelligent, active archiving architecture will dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of archiving critical business data across a wide variety of business needs. By combining the essential elements of an exceptional intelligent, active archival solution – data retention, policy driven archival management, data migration, heterogeneous storage and server infrastructures, data deduplication, data security, encryption, and intelligent search and retrieval – with innovative storage technologies – clustered distributed file systems, file area networking, storage virtualization, and object-based storage, Tarmin delivers quantifiable value to any company.”
Prior to Asempra, Herzog was vice president of product line management for desktop and mobile storage, vice president of worldwide channel marketing, and vice president of corporate communications at Maxtor (recently acquired by Seagate Technology). Prior to Maxtor, Herzog was vice president of marketing and business development for ARIO Data Networks (recently acquired by Xyratex) and vice president, business line management for OEM subsystems and RAID technology at IBM, where he held P&L responsibility for a business line generating over $200 million in revenue. Herzog has held vice president positions in marketing and sales at Topio (recently acquired by Network Appliance), Zambeel, and Streamlogic. Herzog holds a B.A. degree in history from the University of California, Davis, where he graduated cum laude, studied towards a M.A. degree in Chinese history, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta honor society.
