Reporting to president and CEO Mike Worhach
“Paul’s experience with high-growth public and private technology companies and rigorous approach to finance and accounting make him an excellent fit for the SEPATON senior management team and we are delighted to have him join us,” said Mike Worhach, president and CEO, SEPATON, Inc. “Adding someone of Paul’s capabilities is an important step as we position SEPATON for long-term growth.”
With over fifteen years of experience at high-technology companies, both public and private, McDermott brings solid expertise in strategic finance and operational accounting to SEPATON. McDermott’s expertise includes corporate oversight of budgeting and forecasting; capital-raising through public offerings, venture capital, and commercial bank financing; financial reporting and SEC compliance; merger and acquisition diligence and integration; and international expansion.
Most recently, McDermott was vice president of finance, corporate controller and chief accounting officer for Sonus Networks, a publicly-traded provider of infrastructure solutions, where he was responsible for worldwide financial accounting and reporting, including SEC compliance. Earlier in his career, he served as controller for publicly-traded Legent Corporation (now CA). McDermott was also the chief financial officer for three high-technology companies, including ServiceWare Technologies, Firepond, and Network Intelligence. While at Firepond, he executed the company’s initial public offering. McDermott began his career in public accounting most recently with Price WaterhouseCoopers.
McDermott is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Duquesne University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
