IceWEB, Inc. announced that Gaurang Mehta has been appointed IceWEB's Chief Technology Officer.
"Mr. Mehta is a world class data storage veteran that will instantly make a tremendous impact on the technology vision and direction of the company," said John R. Signorello, CEO, IceWEB. "Gaurang brings the right mix of skills in the key strategic areas of Software development, Performance testing, product rollout and most importantly, end customer delivery of support and service."
"As an IceWEB partner and former competitor with other storage companies, I've watched IceWEB evolve into a very defensible position with its focus on unified systems in a market that's ripe for this technology," Mehta said. "I'm pleased to be joining the company at what I see as a major inflection point for the company now that it has the full range of systems from the 2000 to the 7000, combined with its IceSTORM operating system. I'm excited to scale its services, engineering and operations as the number of orders for IceWEB systems increases velocity this year."
Mehta brings 20+ years of engineering and operations experience to IceWEB. Most recently, he was Vice President with Promark Technology, an IceWEB distribution partner. Prior to 2010, (2006 – 2010), he was President of Niksar Data
Management, a professional services company focused in data storage and
server virtualization, (acquired by Promark Technology). Prior to that
(2001-2006), he held technology management positions at LeftHand
Networks, led its Services team and was a member of the OEM Business
Development team. Mehta has over 20 years of consulting, systems
engineering, and management experience with companies such as
Lockheed-Martin, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sprint, and UPS.
He holds a B.A. in Applied Physics from University of Maryland Baltimore County and an MBA in Technology Management from University of Colorado, Boulder.
