Patrick Harr COB of Asankya
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Wed, June 17th, 2009
He was founder and CEO of Nirvanix.
Harr recently founded the Cloud Strategy Group where he works with vendors on go-to-market strategies in the Cloud as well as with enterprises on adoption of cloud-based technologies. Harr helped pioneer the emerging cloud storage market as founder and CEO of Nirvanix, where he developed the business plan, raised $18 million in venture funding, launched the company’s worldwide storage delivery network and secured more than 600 customers including GE, the Planet and NASA among others. Prior to Nirvanix, Harr served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Enterprise Partners Venture Capital focusing on content, storage, and media services investments. Other leadership roles include president and CEO of Preventsys, Inc., a security risk and compliance management firm that was acquired by McAfee in 2006, and Vice President of the $300 million Enterprise Products Group at McData Corp., an enterprise storage networking company. “I look forward to working closely with the company as Chairman as it introduces its cloud application network service,” said Harr. “Asankya has powerful technology with its parallel networking algorithms which enable 40x performance improvement for delivery of applications over the Internet. With the growing adoption by organizations accessing applications over the Internet and the inherent performance, reliability and security challenges of doing so, Asankya has a bright future ahead of it. I’ve been very fortunate to have been personally involved with some truly innovative companies and I consider Asankya to be among the most promising of them all.”
“Patrick has an incredible track record of successfully building and growing companies,” said Scott Ryan, co-founder and CEO of Asankya. “As a cloud visionary, Patrick brings strong insight to the market and instant credibility as we introduce and grow our cloud acceleration network.”
