Asankya, the Cloud Acceleration Company, announced the appointment of technology visionary and cloud industry veteran Patrick Harr as Chairman of the Board. Harr brings to Asankya the unique insight and guidance, based on his successful startup track record, important to establishing the company as the leader in Internet application acceleration,

  Harr recently founded the Cloud Strategy Group where he works with vendors on go-to-market strategies in the Cloud as well as with enterprises on adoption of cloud-based technologies. Harr helped pioneer the emerging cloud storage market as founder and CEO of Nirvanix, where he developed the business plan, raised $18 million in venture funding, launched the company’s worldwide storage delivery network and secured more than 600 customers including GE, the Planet and NASA among others. Prior to Nirvanix, Harr served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Enterprise Partners Venture Capital focusing on content, storage, and media services investments. Other leadership roles include president and CEO of Preventsys, Inc., a security risk and compliance management firm that was acquired by McAfee in 2006, and Vice President of the $300 million Enterprise Products Group at McData Corp., an enterprise storage networking company.
