Anil Gupta VP Engineering for 3Leaf

This industry veteran was formerly working for Inkra, LSI, Altera, Unisys, Mylex and Wipro.

3Leaf Systems has appointed Anil Gupta as vice president of engineering. Reporting directly to CEO and president, B.V. Jagadeesh, Anil will be responsible for the continued development of 3Leaf's industry leading Virtual Compute Environment server virtualization solutions.

"Anil Gupta's background in building complex systems, as well as working with start-ups and established players in the networking space and enterprise data centers fit perfectly with our aggressive growth plans," said B.V. Jagadeesh, CEO, 3Leaf Systems. "Anil will be instrumental as the company continues to expand its market presence and we are pleased to add him to our management team."

Anil brings to the company more than 20 years of engineering, management, and strategic planning experience, specializing in networking, computing systems and semiconductor industries. He brings breadth and depth of system level knowledge through his experience as vice president of engineering at Inkra Networks, where he delivered the industry's first virtualized networking system for datacenter applications, and prior to that, as director of engineering of LSI Logic's Networking Products Division, where he was credited with successful development and introduction of several market-leading products in ATM and Gigabit Ethernet switching technologies. Most recently, Anil applied his vast system hardware and software background to lead strategic marketing for the communications business unit at Altera Corp., where he delivered system solutions for networking, broadband access and wireless markets. Anil has held a variety of management and development positions at Unisys, Mylex (now LSI), and Wipro, working on a multitude of server and storage system solutions.

Anil holds five patents in multiprocessor communications and software design. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India and a Masters in Business Administration from Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.

"The demand for server virtualization solutions is expanding rapidly and 3Leaf has a tremendous opportunity to realize business success in this emerging market," said Anil Gupta. "I look forward to helping enterprises realize the benefits of virtualizing CPU, memory, and I/O resources which vastly improve the responsiveness, agility, and cost-effectiveness of their data center resources. 3Leaf's virtualization solutions enable enterprises to significantly reduce their investments in infrastructure and operations."
