A Consortium for Promoting TrusCont Enhanced DVD-R Disc

TrusCont Ltd., in copy protection and digital rights management solutions, announced the foundation of a new 4-party consortium for promoting the TrusCont Enhanced DVD-R media in the US and Canada.
TrusCont Enhanced DVD-R discs are a superior alternative to standard DVD media. It offers enhanced optional functionalities that are not available with standard media. Users can use the Enhanced media for any general purpose, with standard DVD recorders and standard recording software. In addition, users can utilize enhanced functionalities such as software copy protection, content protection, password protection, printing protection, copy & paste protection, and time limits through the use of TrusCont DVD-R Protection Toolkit. The free software is available for standard use and also professional use with commercial duplication systems.
Until recently the Enhanced DVD-R was sold in the US as professional media available mainly to professional duplication houses and publishers. In order to make the Enhanced media widely available TrusCont has teamed up with Falcon Technologies International (FTI), a DVD and Blu-ray media manufacturer located in Dubai, Media Distributors, an independent distributor of professional recording media products in the US, and CCI/CoakleyTech LLC, in document management and digital media solutions. The combination of superior DRM technology, outstanding media quality and a network of media resellers and retailers that the members bring in grant the new consortium the strength to turn the Enhanced DVD-R media into a high quality general use product that is available also to small authors, publishers and software developers, as well as private consumers.
Another major advantage to the consumers is the new business model enabled by the new consortium, allowing consumers in the US and Canada to purchase Enhanced DVD-R for general use instead of standard media for almost the same price. The Consumer can then purchase a license for utilizing the enhanced functionality as needed and only for the specific discs on which they choose to utilize it. This also saves large duplication houses and publishers the need to manage separate inventory of media for general use, and media for secure publishing purposes.
