For servers running Oracle and SQL
Demartek announces its evaluation of the EMC VFCache flash caching solution, showing test results for servers running Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database transaction workloads connected to EMC storage systems.

"PCIe caching is an excellent way to deploy solid state storage, and the EMC VFCache flash caching solution provided performance improvements of 2.5 to 3.5 times the performance of the baseline tests," said Dennis Martin, Demartek President. "We found VFCache to be a very effective way to provide significant performance improvements for these heavy-duty workloads and very complementary to the advanced features found in modern storage systems."
"VFCache leverages PCIe Flash technology to achieve new levels of performance," said Barry Ader, Senior Director of Product Management and Marketing, EMC Flash Business Unit. "Demartek's validation of VFCache illustrates the sheer power of combining PCIe flash with intelligent software - coupled with EMC storage to extend the expected level of protection and intelligence that enterprise customers require."
