IBM DS5000 With 3TB FC/SAS Nearline HDDs

Dual ported 6Gb

IBM System Storage DS5000 series midrange disk systems now offer the following new features for use in the EXP5000:

3TB 7,200 rpm FC-SAS Nearline (NL) DDM
3TB 7,200 rpm FC-SAS NL DDM (16 pack)

These drives utilize a dual ported 6Gb SAS NL disk drive fitted with a SAS to FC interposer. The new 3TB drive size enables raw physical capacity of up to 48 TB in each EXP5000.

Key prerequisites
All disk drive modules are supported on the EXP5000 Expansion Enclosure, 1818-D1A, and require:

Controller firmware level 07.77.18.00, or later
DS Storage Manager 10.77.x5.26, or later
